The Spooky Men’s Chorale are back in Bristol after far too long with a special, one-off, intimate musical experiment in the stunning surroundings of The Mount Without.
This will be a full Spooky concert showcasing all our new material and every ticket holder also has the chance to be part of the show.
In the run-up to the show we’ll send you a link to a shared folder with learning tracks for several Spooky songs – some new, some classic – for you to download, learn and sing with the Spooks during the show. Of course, if you want to just let the Spooks (and some of your fellow audience) entertain you, that’s absolutely fine too.
We know there are a lot of amazing singers in the area and it would be very cool to sing with you all, but if you just want to turn up and watch the show, you’ll get the best surround sound experience we can think of!!
And if you’re new to the Spooky phenomenon…..
The Spooky Men’s Chorale is a magnificent, many-headed beast which has single-handedly turned the world of men’s singing upside down. Bypassing well trodden avenues, they carve out new territories of mighty man sounds, exquisite tenderness, and charming stupidity to both celebrate masculinity and mock it.
Formed in New South Wales in 2001, the Spooks have become rock-solid festival and theatre favourites in Australia, UK and Europe, with seven albums and 900 gigs under their belts. No subject is too trivial or weighty for their attention, and such ability to find new musical rooms to explore contributes greatly to their astonishing fan loyalty.
The show evokes musical worlds far beyond that suggested by their unassuming, casually hatted, black-clad appearance. They are just a bunch of blokes, but where they take you will blow your mind.
