Venue AcCess

The Main Church

For bringing large bits of equipment / decorations into the main church, there are double yellows that double up as our loading bay on St. Michaels Hill, this is opposite The Open Arms pub. When going up the ramp, follow the path to your right (Upper Church Ln) which will lead you to the main church doors, or straight on and knock the trades door that takes you to the Crypt.

There are multiple routes you can take to our venue when walking. If coming from the city centre, you can go up the Christmas Steps which will lead you past Perry Road and onto Lower Church Lane from here you will need to go up some steps which will lead you straight to our gardens / crypt, to reach the main church, continue to follow the building round to the left where you will be welcomed by our main church doors.

If coming from Park Row, turn left up Old Park Hill which will lead you to Upper Church Lane. Here you will see the university car park and a path which will lead you directly to our venue. This is also car access, after 5pm weekdays and anytime at the weekend.

FLOOR PLANS (Click to view) : THE MAIN HALL & THE CRYPT

Disabled Access

We have a ramp leading to the crypt through our gardens on Lower Church Lane, the path wraps around the whole venue so you can access the Main Hall from the same path if you come up from St Michaels Hill loading bay.

Old Park Hill is the best route to go, if going straight to the Main Hall and a ramp is difficult.

Parking

The nearest car park is the NCP on Trenchard street. If you come out at level 8 on Perry road, it is a 3min walk. Our postcode is BS2 8FN

You can also park on St Michael’s Hill. This is meter pay parking and for disabled parking you there is single yellow lines outside The Open Arms pub on St Michael’s Hill that you can park all day.

Please note we have no private parking for the venue but as we are so central we do ask you look at Green travel such as buses, scooters & lift shares.

THE BAR

Situated in The Crypt, we have a wide selection of spirits, wines, ales, ciders and beers. Corkage prices are available upon request. A bottle bar can also be set up in our main hall at an extra cost.

CATERING

We partner with a selection of local catering teams in Bristol, offering a great range of cuisines to suit your preferences. Please get in touch if you would like menus sent to you. (They are also linked on our website under specific private hire options)

CAPACITY

This is dependent on the type of event and whether you are using the Main Hall, The Crypt, or both. Please get in touch to find out more!

Do we hold more than one event at the same time?

You are welcome to book exclusive use of the building by hiring the main hall and crypt. However, if you only book either the main hall or the crypt, there may be another event taking place in the other part of the venue. Despite this, both bookings are kept separate.

WedDING SUPPLIERS

If you need to gain access to the venue before 10am on a wedding day this can be arranged with prior organisation. Please contact our wedding team on - weddings@themountwithout.co.uk

Weddings cake makers - We don’t provide knifes or stands, so this is up to yourself or the couple to provide. Please provide us with a list of ingredients.

Wedding florists - Please make sure that any items brought on the day are collected the next morning before 11am. After this time we can’t guarantee there safety as we often dry hire the venue to the public or private clients the following day. Please also make sure all rubbish is taken off site with you.

Wedding DJs/Bands - Load in/Load out access as above - Please direct yourself to The Crypt and ask for the wedding coordinator or duty manager
- Parking is not available but after you have unloaded if you can’t find street parking speak to the duty manager, who knows a few sneaky parking spots very close
- Green Room - You can use the area next to performance area with screens but the wedding party will be in a separate part of the building when you set up and they won’t come down until it’s time to party
- Venue Sound Restrictions (does your venue have a sound limiter?) We are in a Crypt with massive refurb, so for the sake of older guests and for staff to be able to hear guests order drinks not too crazy loud please, or too much bass - Basically don't have to fill a huge room with sound. NO SUBS PLEASE

The DJ/Band area has x 3 double 13 amp sockets a trestle table, a rug, an extension lead & wardrobe for hiding cases etc.

The area is 4.2m – 4.2m but has a wardrobe on one side and a trestle table on the other (so a bit bigger if needed)
