‘The Black Dog’ is the culmination of three years of doctoral practice research. Artist Katie Marland has spent this time investigating the folklore of the Black Dog in Britain through archival interventions, fieldwork at the original sites of legends, observational drawing on-location and printmaking. This exhibition brings to life a bestiary of the British Black Dog, illuminating folkloric narratives and waking strange beings from the archives they have come to rest in.
