'Sub Rosa': an exhibition of collage and moving image by Libby Anderson

Libby Anderson (@libbyandercollage) is a Bristol based collage artist. Working across hand-cut collage and experimental stop-motion, Anderson creates layered compositions using her own photography, vintage magazines, books and acetate. Her works are marked by manual manipulation during the scanning process, producing glitched apparitions that emerge and vanish throughout her pieces.

Anderson creates vivid, dreamlike reimaginings of ritual space, myth, and esoteric traditions. Drawing upon her background in Archaeology, she alchemises the sites and artefacts of antiquity with twentieth-century erotica. Her compositions explore themes of desire and devotion, and delights in dissolving the boundaries between sacred and profane.

Sometimes a prayer. Sometimes a scream. Always a dream.

+ special guests The Family Matters (@the.family.matters), who will be offering an unplugged, fireside performance on the night.
