BRISTOL FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS : THE SHAPE OF WATER

DOORS: 18:00 | FILM STARTS 18:15

As part of our Valentine’s-adjacent screenings, we look forward to welcoming you to one of Bristol’s most dramatic venues – the stunning Mount Without! Formerly a church dating from the 15th Century, this recently revived creative space on St. Michael’s Hill boasts a rich history. Enjoy a drink in the Crypt, before watching films in the Grade-II listed nave, which has been stunningly restored to combine stained-glass windows and centuries-old masonry with a unique contemporary twist.

For those of you looking for something a little different to the usual romcom February fare, we’re pleased to present a double bill of Guillermo del Toro films at The Mount Without - the master of modern Gothic fantasy is the ideal fit for this atmospheric venue! First up is The Shape Of Water, a dark and romantic tale of a forbidden relationship that was only the second fantasy film ever to win the Oscar for Best Picture (after The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King!). Deftly blending Shakespearean tragedy with 50s B-movie creature features, it’s a poignant and haunting watch that remains one of del Toro’s career highlights.
